Fall is the perfect time to enjoy a trip to the cool mountains of Vermont. An abundance of autumn colors will lead us to the charming Middlebury Inn. Situated in the heart of Middlebury, VT, this historic Inn combines convenience with traditional elegance. We will have the opportunity to see many local attractions during our visit.

Day 1

Sit back, relax and enjoy the beautiful New England scenery as we travel north to the Middlebury Inn. With stops for rest and lunch our arrival is scheduled for late afternoon. Dinner will be included this evening.


Day 2

Today, following breakfast, we depart with our local guide for a day of touring. At our first stop we will have a guided tour of the Rock of Ages Granite Quarry. Look down into the world's largest operating granite quarry to see master craftsmen create the finest products. We will then visit Montpelier State Capital for a self-guided tour. Lunch will be on our own before we arrive at Cold Hollow Cider Mill where we will learn about apples and cider making. Be sure to check out the Country Store to get some delicious snacks. After, we will tour the Birds of Vermont Museum. This museum was created to preserve and exhibit a collection of life-like bird carvings for the purpose of educating people about the role of birds in the ecosystem. This evening we'll board the Spirit of Ethan Allen for a sunset dinner cruise surrounded by the beautiful views of Lake Champlain.

Day 3

After breakfast we will depart with our local guide for the Shelburne Museum which houses "the best collection of Americana in New England", a collection of collections! During our self-guided visit we will see American paintings, impressionists, folk art, historic architecture, a covered bridge, an 1840 general store, and much more. Lunch will be on our own today. This afternoon we will have a guided tour Vermont Teddy Bear Factory to see how our favorite warm and fuzzy bears are made. Then we will stop at Dakin Farm to browse and shop their wide variety of Vermont products including cheeses, meats, and maple syrup. Dinner and entertainment this evening will be at a local sugar house.

Day 4

After breakfast we will begin our journey homeward. With stops for rest and lunch our arrival home is scheduled for early evening.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Daily seat rotation is practiced on most multi-day tours. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
