Day 1

Sit back and enjoy the spectacular foliage as we travel to New England. With stops for rest and lunch enroute, we will arrive at Harriet Beecher Stowe Center for a guided tour by early afternoon. Here, we will learn about the life and times of the famous novelist, and author of the classic Uncle Tom's Cabin. Hear about her childhood, travels, marriage, family, and perhaps greatest of all, her courage. Our lodging this evening will be in the Sturbridge, MA area.

Day 2

This morning, after breakfast, we will visit Old Sturbridge Village. Here, we will explore a recreated 1830s rural New England town, with antique buildings, workshops, homes, gardens, and costumed historians showcasing trades of that era. Lunch will be included inside the village. This afternoon we will have a guided tour of the Concord Museum. This museum has a renowned collection of Americana, including 1775 Revere Lantern, Thoreau's Walden desk, and Emerson's study. Lodging this evening will be in Woburn, MA. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Day 3

Following breakfast we will enjoy a tour of the historic city of Boston and Cambridge with a local guide showing us many the points of interest like Massachusetts Institute of Technology, the Paul Revere House, and the Old North Church. You will enjoy free time for lunch and shopping in Quincy Market before we depart for Ogunquit, ME, the location of our lodging this evening. Dinner this evening will be a lobster bake. An alternate dish is available to those who do not wish to eat seafood.

Day 4

After breakfast we will enjoy a cruise on New Hampshire's largest lake on board the replica steamship, M/S Mount Washington. Lunch will be included on board. This afternoon we will drive the Kancamagus Highway, a National Forest Scenic Byway that meanders through pristine wilderness. Our lodging will be in Lincoln, NH. Tonight, we will board the Café Lafayette Dinner Train for a leisurely two-hour ride among the lush New England Forest.

Day 5

After breakfast we will travel through one of New Hampshire's most scenic mountain passes, Franconia Notch. This parkway winds between Kinsman Mountain and Franconia Mountain and contains two of New England's national geological wonders, Flume Gorge and Cannon Mountain. A stop will be made at the Gilman Visitor Center to watch a short film about the Flume Gorge. Following the film, partake in an aerial tram ride to the top of Cannon Mountain. Enjoy panoramic views of distant mountains and valleys. We will then enjoy lunch and a self-guided tour at the Omni Mount Washington Resort. After lunch, we will visit The Rock Estate to participate in a hands-on Maple Sugaring program. Dinner will be on your own this evening.

Day 6

Today, following breakfast, we will depart for Hope Cemetery, an "outdoor art museum". During our guided tour see the craftsmanship of these granite sculpture headstones, carved by Italian artists who migrated to work the quarries. Our next stop is at Rock of Ages Granite Quarries. This guided quarry tour takes you to the overlook at the Smith Quarry to see the world's largest operating granite quarry. Lunch will be on your own today. This afternoon we will tour the Morse Farm and learn about their 200-year-old maple sugar tradition. Our lodging this evening is in Keen, NH. Dinner will be on your own.

Day 7

This morning after breakfast we will depart for Stockbridge, MA, home to the Norman Rockwell Museum. Here we will enjoy the works of America's favorite illustrator's chronicle of the Americas everyone likes to remember. Lunch will be enjoyed before we depart for home. A stop for dinner will be made enroute. Arrival home will be later this evening.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. We have suspended this practice for a period of time. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort if reinstated.
