Celebrate the arrival of spring with Perkiomen Tours and view the spectacular display of colorful blooms across Biltmore Estate. See tulips, clusters of bright daffodils and forsythia; acres of azaleas ablaze in shades of pink, purple, orange, red and white; hundreds of romantic roses and more. The biggest color explosion is the vibrant colors in the 20-acre azalea garden and cascades of native and exotic blooms in the natural gardens (late April) and along the walking trails. Don't miss the newborn farm animals at Antler Hill Farm and the spring seasonal wines at the Biltmore Winery. In addition to touring the Biltmore Estate, we will also visit the Sarah P. Day 1

Today we begin our southern journey, stopping in Washington, DC where we will enjoy a luncheon cruise aboard the Odyssey. This will give us the opportunity to view some of DC's highlights from the water, as well as enjoy a delicious lunch. We will then have a guided tour of our Nation's Capital with a local step-on guide. Tonight's lodging will be near the city of Richmond, VA.

Day 2

As we continue south, a stop will be made in Durham, NC at Sarah P. Duke Gardens located at Duke University. Duke Gardens is one of the finest examples in the Southeast of gardening as an art form. The 55 acres of landscaped and woodland gardens feature more than 2,000 kinds of plants, 5 miles of walks and pathways, bridges, grottos, waterfalls and ponds. Later we continue to Asheville, the location of our lodging for the next two evenings.

Day 3

A full day at Biltmore Estate will allow for a tour of the Biltmore House, Gardens and Conservatory; lunch at the Deerpark Restaurant and a visit to Antler Village where you can see beautiful gardens, enjoy the Biltmore Farm Museum and visit the Antler Hill Winery. During Festival of Flowers, the estate's seasonal beauty is showcased with a stunning tulip display in the Walled Garden, cascades of native and exotic blooms in the natural gardens and walking trails and delicate arrangements inside the Biltmore House. The Biltmore House offers festivities including dance, music and skits. Biltmore's Winery joins the celebration with a commemorative "Festival of Flowers" wine and music programs.

Day 4

This morning we will re-enter the Biltmore Estate for the last time allowing you to see what you missed yesterday, or return to that favorite floral spot. By early afternoon, we will head north for our overnight accommodations in Roanoke, Virginia.

Day 5

Continuing north into the Shenandoah Valley, we will stop in Edinburg, Virginia for a tour and lunch at Shenandoah Vineyards. Here we'll walk through the wine cellar and discuss the winemaking facility, enjoy a box lunch and taste a selection of wines. We'll then continue our journey homeward with an arrival scheduled for early evening.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Daily seat rotation is practiced on most multi-day tours. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
