Day 1

This morning we depart for our touring on the south and west side of Seneca Lake. Our first stop will be Sunset View Creamery for a tour of the farm, facility and four legged family members. Their artisan milk cheese is the result of five generations of dedicated family dairy farming on the same 348-acre farm that has been in the Hoffman family since 1905. We will then travel a short distance to Watkins Glen, where we will enjoy lunch at Seneca Harbor Station. Following lunch, we will visit Watkins Glen State Park, the most famous of the Finger Lakes State Parks, with a reputation for leaving visitors spellbound. Within two miles, the glen's stream descends 400 feet past 200-foot cliffs, generating 19 waterfalls along its course. The gorge path winds over and under waterfalls and through the spray of Cavern Cascade while rim trails overlook the gorge. Our lodging for the next three evenings will be located in Geneva, on the northern side of Seneca Lake. Dinner will be at your leisure this evening.

Day 2

Following breakfast at the hotel, we will depart for a day of touring around Keuka Lake. Our first stop will be a visit to the Glenn H. Curtiss Museum, among the most notable aviation museums in the United States due to its focus on the accomplishments of Glenn H. Curtiss, aviation pioneer and early motorcycle manufacturer. The museum includes a sizeable collection of early aircraft and motorcycles, which illustrate the innovative genius of Glenn Curtiss. The centerpiece of the motorcycle collection is an exact reproduction of the famous 8-cylinder motorcycle which earned Curtiss the title of "Fastest Man on Earth" in 1907 with a land-speed record of 136.4 mph. We will enjoy free time for lunch on your own at Bully Hill Winery, followed by a tour and tasting. The tour and tasting experience at Bully Hill is definitely one of the most unique in the Finger Lakes. The experience begins with a 30 minute walking tour of the estate followed by a 20 minute tasting extravaganza. Leaving from the Visitor Center your guide will elaborate on the unique history of Bully Hill and Walter S. Taylor (Bully Hill's founder). He or she will then continue with a discussion of viticulture in the Finger Lakes, elaborate on the grape growing process, and wrap up the tour with a visit to their winemaking facility. Following the tour, you are welcome to join one of Bully Hill's wine tastings. Your BHV Tasting All Star will educate you in every step of properly sampling Bully Hill wine. We will then return to the hotel to freshen up for this evening's dinner. Tonight will be a special treat as we dine in Edgar's Steakhouse on the shores of Seneca Lake in the 1880s Belhurst Castle.

Day 3

Today, after breakfast, we will head east to the northern tip of Cayuga Lake where we will tour Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge, a wildlife preserve operated by the United States Fish and Wildlife Service, encompassing part of the Montezuma Swamp. Here, they protect, restore and enhance wildlife habitat. A short distance away is Seneca Falls, where we will tour the Women's Rights National Historic Park and enjoy lunch on your own. This afternoon we will enjoy an extraordinary visit to Seneca White Deer for a tour of the world's largest herd of white, white-tailed deer, other wildlife and relics of 60 years of secret weapons storage. We will visit one of the 519 earth-covered concrete igloos that stored everything from pistol ammunition to tactical missiles and from conventional bombs to nuclear warheads on this narrated trip behind the fences of the former Seneca Army Depot. After returning to the hotel to freshen up, dinner will be included at a local restaurant.

Day 4

This morning, after breakfast at the hotel, we will check out and head south. We will visit Lively Run Dairy Farm, located between Seneca & Cayuga Lakes. One of the longest operating commercial goat dairies in the country, the entire team at Lively Run Dairy works to continue the mission of crafting delectable artisan cheese inspired by the historic Finger Lakes food culture. After our tour we will head to Taughannock Falls State Park and its namesake waterfall, one of the outstanding natural attractions of the northeast. Taughannock Falls plunges 215 feet past rocky cliffs that tower nearly 400 feet above the gorge. Gorge and rim trails offer spectacular views from above the falls and from below at the end of the gorge trail. A stop for lunch on your own and a view of Ithaca Falls will conclude our Finger Lakes Touring. Arrival home is scheduled for early this evening.
