Lancaster Holiday Treasures

Day 1

See the pristine Amish farms, one-room schoolhouses, windwheels, Amish "phone booths" and farmers working the fields with their horse or mule-drawn plows. We'll make stops along the way to visit interesting places and fill our bags or stockings with gifts from our local guide. An in-home Amish lunch is included!

Lil' Country Store
The Lil' Country Store offers both handmade Amish products and crafts, as well as baked and canned goods and homemade root beer. The highlight of this stop will be a visit with the miniature horses in the barn next door.

Bird-in-Hand Bake Shop
This stop offers a wide selection of homemade goodies. You will also find a selection of local handmade crafts.

In-Home Amish Lunch
Prepare for a unique and truly memorable experience as we are welcomed into a real Amish home as their guests for an authentic Amish meal. Enjoy their kind and gracious hospitality as the family serves a delicious PA Dutch feast. A typical meal would include two meat entrees, mashed potatoes, buttered noodles, vegetables, assorted cold relishes, homemade bread, beverage, and desserts. A real taste of Amish life!

Smucker's Gourds
Learn how an Amish man, Eli Smucker, turned his dairy business into a gourd farming business. The history of his business is fascinating. Shop in his gourd warehouse and find gourds of every shape and size. Buy a gourd to paint yourself or one already painted by Eli's Smucker's young Amish daughters. You'll be astounded by the many craft items made from gourds.

9:00 AM Depart with local guide
Travel through Lancaster County making stops along the way for interesting visits.
4:30 PM Depart for home
