Liberty Island & Ellis Island

Day 1

Visiting Liberty Island is one of the most rewarding experiences of any trip to New York City. Ask yourself, how far would you travel to find a better life? How much would you sacrifice in order to provide for your family? If you answered "whatever it takes," you echo the attitudes of the 12 million immigrants who passed through these now quiet halls from 1892 to 1954. Ellis Island afforded them the opportunity to attain the American dream for themselves and their descendants.

Your ferry ticket includes access and audio tours of the Ellis Island Immigration Museum and the Statue of Liberty Museum. Pedestal and Crown tickets are not included in this tour but can be purchased through the National Park Service. Same day pedestal reservations may be available at the Statue City Cruises ticket offices, but are extremely limited. Pedestal reservations are not available on Liberty Island. Crown tickets are limited and advance reservations are required.

Timed Itinerary

9:00 AM Approximate arrival at Liberty State Park, New Jersey
Board the ferry upon arrival
Free Time to explore Ellis Island, Liberty Island and Liberty State Park
4:30 PM Depart directly for home from Liberty State Park, NJ

With the departure time in mind, please schedule your time appropriately throughout your day to include ample time for boarding the ferry and security screenings.

Ferry Stops

1st stop = Ellis Island - 10 minutes from dock to Ellis Island
2nd stop = Statue of Liberty - 10 minutes from Ellis Island to Liberty Island
3rd stop = Back to Liberty State Park dock - 15 minutes from Liberty Island back to Liberty State Park dock

PLEASE BE ADVISED

Due to increased security at both Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty, all persons and property are subject to search. All weapons are prohibited, including: firearms, explosives or flammables, knives or sharp objects (including tools), pepper spray and mace. No packages, backpacks, coolers or parcels are permitted in the monument (Locker facilities are available at the entrance and require a quarter deposit).

There are snack bars on all the boats which sell healthy snacks and beverages, as well as merchandise. There are also concession stands and gift stores on Ellis and Liberty Island.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with the driver at the time of boarding.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
