Day 2

After an early breakfast, we travel into Michigan with arrival in Mackinaw City by mid-afternoon. After lunch on your own we will board a ferry that will take us to Mackinac Island to enjoy the Lilac Festival and a 2-night stay. Celebrating Mackinac's lilac collection began in 1949, with the idea to bring people to the island to enjoy the lovely lilacs that fragrance the island in June. With a full schedule, this event has now blossomed into a 10-day festival. Later we will check-in to the newest hotel on the island, Bicycle Street Inn & Suites. After an included dinner, the remainder of the evening is yours to enjoy how you wish.

Day 3

This morning, after a continental breakfast, we will enjoy a narrated, 2-horse-drawn carriage tour of the Island. Enjoy the history, views, and beauty of the island as we ride through the downtown area. After a brief stop at Surrey Hill Square Carriage Museum, we will enjoy a 3-horse-drawn, narrated carriage ride through Mackinac State Park, making a stop at Arch Rock. Mackinac State Park was once America's 2nd National Park, second only to Yellowstone. After a visit to Fort Mackinac, we will be transported by carriage taxi to our included lunch at the Grand Hotel, home to the world's longest porch. Take in the beautiful views including the hotel's many American Flags, signature red Geraniums, and glistening Lake Huron. The remainder of the day and evening is at your leisure to enjoy the island. Dinner will be on your own this evening.
