Metropolitan Museum of Art

Day 1

The Metropolitan Museum of Art, referred to as "The Met," is located in New York City, and is the largest art museum in the United States. The permanent collection consists of works of art from classical antiquity and ancient Egypt, paintings and sculptures from nearly all the European masters, and an extensive collection of American and modern art. Every day art comes alive in the Museum's galleries and through its exhibitions and events, revealing both new ideas and unexpected connections across time and across cultures. While the Metropolitian Museum of Art no longer provides physical audio guide devices, audio guide content can still be accessed using a smartphone and headphones. New media is added on a continual basis.

A light food stop will be made on the way home. This meal is not included in the cost of the tour.

Museum Guidlines

Please retain your ticket. You may be asked to re-validate your ticket when exiting and re-entering the galleries.
Flash-photography is not permited

What you can bring with you:
- small backpacks are permitted but must be worn on your front or carried in your hand
- water is allowed in a secure bottle, no other liquids are permitted
- strollers and front-facing baby carriers are welcome. Please note that some exhibitions do not allow strollers. Jogging strollers and wagons are not allowed.
- mobility scooters are permitted

What you should leave at home:
- large bags and oversized camera equipment
- glass containers
- food and drink (other than water in a secure bottle or for medical reasons)
- large objects
- marking materials, paint, adhesives, epoxies, or glues (pencils are allowed)
- firearms, weapons, or hazardous materials
- oversized strollers or scooters
- selfie sticks, tripods, monopods, and professional video equipment.
- plants and flowers
- craft/utility knives, tools, screwdrivers
- any other item that could put the art or visitors at risk, to be determined at the sole discretion of The Met security team.

Our intention is to run each tour as originally planned and published. However, if deemed necessary to do so, Perkiomen Tours reserves the right to make changes to tour components, schedules or itineraries without prior notification.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with the driver at the time of boarding.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
