Day 1
We begin our journey to Michigan with a stop in Westlake, OH, the location of our first night's lodging. Stops for rest and lunch will be made enroute. Dinner will be at our leisure.
Day 2
We start our day with a continental breakfast at the hotel before we make our way to the Gilmore Car Museum for a self-guided tour. There will be a stop for rest & lunch enroute. The Gilmore Car Museum is rated one of the top ten in the nation with more than 140 restored antique automobiles on display, tracing the significant technical developments in automotive transportation. We'll then depart for Spring Lake, MI, where we'll check-in to tonight's lodging. Dinner will be included.
CB, DDay 3
A busy day is in store today, so we'll start off our day with breakfast. We'll then travel along Michigan's beautiful western shore. Our first stop is Silver Lake Dunes in Mears, MI where we will take a dune buggy ride across the Sahara-like dunes created by the Ice Age that formed the Great Lakes. After a stop for lunch, we will meet our guide for a driving tour through Sleeping Bear Dune National Lakeshore. We will travel along Pierce Stocking Scenic Drive which offers beautiful views of Lake Michigan, the Glen Lakes and the dunes. Stops will be made along the way to allow for photo opportunities. Then we'll continue to our lodging in Traverse City, MI. Dinner will be at our leisure.
BDay 4
Enjoy a continental breakfast at the hotel, then we're off to the highlight of the tour - Mackinac Island. Our visit will begin with a guided narrated carriage tour of the island. Automobiles are not permitted; therefore, our sightseeing will be by horse drawn carriages. After lunch on your own at Surrey Hill Square Carriage Museum, we will continue our narrated carriage tour through Mackinac State Park. We will also visit Old Fort Mackinac. The fort sits high on a bluff above the harbor and dates from 1780. Following our self-guided tour of the fort, we will check-in at the Lake View Hotel, our lodging for the night. The hotel is conveniently located on Main Street in downtown Mackinac Island and is brimming with Victorian charm, 19th-century architecture, and modern amenities. The vibe of the hotel is casual and carefree, boasting an island-style atmosphere. It is just steps from the island's best entertainment, shopping, and dining. You are free to enjoy the island at your leisure tonight.
CBDay 5
Breakfast will be on our own and at our leisure this morning. Today is a free day for you to enjoy the views from the porch of the hotel, stroll the shops of Market Street, or walk some of the island's endless nature trails. An included lunch buffet will be enjoyed at the luxurious Grand Hotel before we take the ferry back to the mainland. Our lodging and included dinner this evening is at the Breakers Resort in St. Ignace, MI.

Lodging at Breakers Resort requires the ability to do stairs. There is an elevator to your floor, however there will be extra steps to get to your room.
Day 6
We'll enjoy a continental breakfast at the hotel. Before departing the area, we will visit another attraction of historical significance to the region, Fort Michilimackinac. Constructed in 1715 by French soldiers and fur traders, this tiny walled community served as an important commercial depot and strategic military post for more than sixty years. After we will depart for the charming village of Frankenmuth, MI. A lunch stop will be made enroute. Upon arrival, we will check-in to the Bavarian Inn Lodge and enjoy some free time before an included dinner.
CB, DDay 7
Following breakfast, we'll depart for our next destination, Dearborn, MI. Here we will have a self-guided visit to the historic Greenfield Village, a collection of nearly 100 historic buildings on a 200-acre site that was established in 1933 by industrialist Henry Ford. Included is an all-day ride pass that allows you to hop onboard the steam train, ride the carousel, or take a ride in a Model T. Also, visit the Henry Ford Museum which contains a multitude of artifacts, inventions, and mementos of American society, as well as an excellent exhibit on "The Automobile in American Life." Lunch vouchers will be provided to use at the onsite restaurants. Our lodging this evening will be in Westlake, OH. Dinner is at our leisure.
Day 8
After breakfast, we'll check-out and depart for home. With stops for rest & lunch enroute, our arrival home is scheduled for late afternoon.
