Mississippi River Cruise aboard American Serenade

Mississippi River Cruise aboard American Serenade

To replace the River Cruise offered by American Queen Steamboat Company, we're offering a Mississippi River Cruise presented by American Cruise Lines aboard their American Serenade.

Join Perkiomen Tours as we cruise from New Orleans to Memphis along the Mississippi River aboard American Cruise Line’s American Serenade. The lower stretch of the Mississippi is the river of Legends - the river of centuries-old, shaded oak trees, elegant antebellum plantations, cobblestone streets and Victorian mansions. Hear the river's music in rock and roll, blues, jazz and zydeco and savor its culinary diversity with a host of distinctive Creole and Cajun delights. This is the soul of the Mississippi River. Inhale the sweet fragrance of magnolia blossoms, relax in a rocking chair with a glass of sweet tea and watch the essence of the South unfold around you.

Overview

To replace the River Cruise offered by American Queen Steamboat Company, we're offering a Mississippi River Cruise presented by American Cruise Lines aboard their American Serenade. Inaugurated in 2023, this 180-guest capacity, American-made ship features trendy interior décor, an innovative hydraulic bow and retractable ramp, one of the most gorgeous sun decks ever seen on a river-going ship, a four-story atrium in the center of the ship offering panoramic views, an onboard fitness center, shuffleboard, self-service laundry, nightly entertainment, and a variety of sizable lounges. The ship offers spacious staterooms & suites (ranging from 250 to 650 sq feet), all offering full-size bathrooms, roomy closets, and private balconies. Its interior design is both elegant & refined, drawing inspiration from geography across America and highlighting natural textural elements and serene color palettes. American Serenade sets the bar high for domestic US river cruising.

Our intention is to run each tour as originally planned and published. However, if deemed necessary to do so, Perkiomen Tours reserves the right to make changes to tour components, schedules or itineraries without prior notification.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. Please be aware that optional Cruise Cancellation Protection Plan offered by the cruise line may not cover transportation (motorcoach) to and from the cruise terminal. Travel Insurance for the motorcoach portion of your tour must be purchased directly by you from a third-party of your choice. Please be aware of the timing of your purchase of third-party travel insurance. Each carrier has their own requirements. One option is Travel Safe Insurance. You can inquire about and purchase insurance directly from Travel Safe through our website, www.perkiomentours.com.

Packing Suggestions:

Daytime dress is casual, slacks and shorts are acceptable. For evenings, country club casual attire is suggested. A dress, dressy skirt and blouse or a pant suit for ladies. Gentlemen may wish to wear a sport coat, but it is not required. It is kindly requested that guests do not wear shorts to dinner in the main dining area.

Other packing recommendations include comfortable, non-slip walking shoes, sunscreen, a hat, sweater and/or jacket for cool evenings, and light rainwear. Be sure to check a National Weather source and pack accordingly.

River cruising offers less recreational activities than a cruise ship. We suggest bringing along a book, puzzle books, a deck of playing cards, etc to pass the time when you are not exploring at the ports of call or enjoying the onboard entertainment.
