Day 1

This morning we depart on our 12-day journey traveling west to Columbus, OH and our overnight accommodations. There is a kickback dinner available at the hotel until 7:00 PM tonight.

Day 2

After breakfast at the hotel, we will check-out and continue west to St. Louis, Missouri. Here we will enjoy a visit to the Gateway Arch. Our lodging will be included near Union Station in St. Louis. There is a kickback dinner available at the hotel until 7:00 PM tonight.

Day 3

Today, after breakfast, we will enjoy a tour of St. Louis with our step-on guide. Later, we complete our journey to Alton, Illinois where we board the American Countess. Premium bedding will ensure that you are well-rested to fully enjoy all included shore excursions, historical lectures and nightly entertainment. Each elegant accommodation boasts a flat-screen TV, mini refrigerator, coffee maker and a safe for your comfort and convenience. You will be transported not just through America, but also through time.

Day 4 - 9

Our ports of call for the next 6 days include Hannibal, Missouri; Clinton & Dubuque, Iowa; LaCross, Wisconsin and Red Wing, Minnesota. You are free to customize your journey with a distinct blend of authentic experiences and comprehensive included tours. Enjoy Mark Twain's Hometown & Literary Inspiration, Scenic River Views and Towering Bluffs, Scandinavian, Dutch & German Heritage, Charming Small Town America and Local Farmer's Markets.

Day 10

Today we arrive in Red Wing, Minnesota, nestled below dramatic limestone bluffs. Here we disembark the American Countess. Fond memories or shared stories and content smiles follow us home. Our lodging for this evening is located in Chicago, IL.

Day 11

After a continental breakfast at the hotel, we will be met by a guide who will show us around the sights of the city. Our tour today will be mostly off the bus. We will then depart for Elyria, OH, the location of our lodging for this evening.

Today we complete our homeward journey arriving back in Pennsburg by early evening.

Our intention is to run each tour as originally planned and published. However, if deemed necessary to do so, Perkiomen Tours reserves the right to make changes to tour components, schedules or itineraries without prior notification.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with the driver at the time of boarding. Daily seat rotation is practiced on most multi-day tours. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort.

Perkiomen Tours recommends that you consider purchasing Travel Insurance for your tour. Travel Insurance is purchased directly by you from a third-party of your choice. A deposit of $500.00 per person is due at time of booking in order to confirm a seat on this tour.

Final payment is due May 8, 2020.

Prior to May 8, 2020         $250 per person non-refundable

May 8 - 91 days prior        25% per person non-refundable

90 - 61 days prior             50% per person non-refundable

60 - 31 days prior             75% per person non-refundable

30 - 0 days prior             100% per person non-refundable

  • Fuel surcharges, fees, taxes, etc. are subject to change without notice & may result in additional charges

 

Cancellation/Interruption Protection:

Because of cancellation penalties incurred, especially on cruises and air tours (both domestic and international), Perkiomen Tours strongly recommends the purchase of cancellation/interruption insurance.  We do assist our travelers who might wish to purchase travel protection by providing insurance information/brochures. Of course, you are free to select other insurance sources if you choose to do so. Any insurance coverage purchased is an agreement between the traveler and the insurance company. All conditions of coverage(s) are dependent upon the specific policy of your selected insurance company. Please be aware of any eligibility requirements for coverage pertaining to pre-existing conditions prior to paying your trip deposit.

All dining assignments are subject to availability at time of reservation and will be allocated on a first come, first confirmed basis.

Bedding preferences must be requested at the time of booking.

  • Options are 2 twin beds or 1 queen bed.

Please note that some staterooms have fixed bedding and cannot convert between 2 twins and a queen.
