Mount Hope Farm to Table Lunch & Seltzer's Meats

Day 1

Today's unique experience begins with a guided wine tasting tour that includes the estate's wine production facility, product samples, and a souvenir glass for each guest. The tour ends at the Barn & Barrel, a beautifully restored historic barn with modern amenities. Sit back and enjoy a chef-prepared, regionally inspired meal made with locally sourced ingredients, paired with entertaining, farm-fresh facts shared by our group's Mount Hope host. The visit also includes a chance to meet the chef that prepared your meal - all in the stunning setting of the estate's restored barn.

The chef will determine the farm-fresh seasonal menu for our visit and it might not be communicated in advance. Beverages will also include freshly brewed iced tea, freshly squeezed lemonade, coffee, hot tea and water.

After lunch, visit Seltzer's Smokehouse Meats in Palmyra, PA. Expert guides lead us through an in-depth look at each step of the smoked meat process. From the secret spice blends to hand-tended fires, see first-hand the artistry that goes into creating their signature flavors. Enjoy the rich, smoky aromas that fill the air as seasoned professionals craft each batch. Learn about the time-honored techniques and innovative methods that set Seltzer's products apart from the rest. Sample an array of smoked meats, from classic favorites to bold new creations. Savor the unique flavor profiles that make Seltzer's a family favorite for over 100 years.

Because this is a tour of a food processing facility, all participants will need to comply with the following:
- Closed-toe shoes without heels are required.
- Jewelry must be removed, lockers are provided. Gloves will be provided for rings that cannot be removed.
- Provided hair and beard nets must be worn.
- A release form will be required for each participant.

Timed Itinerary

10:30 AM: Approximate arrival at Mount Hope Estate
10:45 AM: Wine Tasting Tour
12:00 PM: Farm-to-Table Lunch
2:00 PM: Depart Mount Hope for Seltzer's
2:30 PM: Tour of Seltzer's Smokehouse Meats
4:00 PM: Depart for home
There will be no rest stops to or from our destination today.

Due to the nature of the included meal, it might not be possible to accommodate dietary restrictions on this tour. Restrictions, allergies, etc. will need to be communicated well in advance to determine if accommodation is possible. If communication does not take place well in advance, special requirements will not be met. Mount Hope Estate is not a restaurant open to the public and they often do not have extra items available.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with the driver at the time of boarding.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
