Today we depart for Cape Cod to enjoy A Glass Blower's Christmas at Sandwich Glass adorned with fabulous hand-blown glass ornaments! We will see the vast collection from Sandwich's rich history in glass manufacturing and enjoy a live glass blowing demonstration. Holiday ornaments will be available for purchase. Enroute to our lodging we will be dazzled by the holiday lights along Old King's Highway. See the illuminated artistry of Cape Cod's Michael Magyars featuring his giant lighted sculptures. Our lodging for the next two evenings will be located at the Comfort Inn, Hyannis. Dinner will be included this evening at a local restaurant.D
This morning after a continental breakfast we will depart with a local guide for a full-day tour including the Nantucket Noel Annual Christmas Stroll. From the time you step onto the island, holiday enchantment surrounds you! Hundreds of Christmas Trees line Main Street where costumed carolers fill the air with familiar Christmas songs. A variety of musical entertainment, performances, and holiday treats await you as you stroll along visiting the island merchants, museums, and attractions. The Nantucket Town Crier, in full historic regalia, will ring in the Annual Stroll and lead the way to the wharf to meet Santa arriving on a Coast Guard Cutter. Lunch will be on your own. Later this afternoon, we will enjoy the Hyannis Harbor Boat Lighting festivities, music, food and colorfully lit boats cruising the harbor. Dinner this evening will be included at a local restaurant.
Today after our continental breakfast, we will check-out and depart for Newport. Upon arrival we will enjoy a tour of Newport's Highlights. Enter the world of the Vanderbilts, Astors, and the wealthiest of gilded age tycoons as we travel Newport's fabulous Bellevue Avenue, peppered with stunning mansions and gardens. Take in the rugged beauty of Ten-Mile Ocean Drive featuring magnificient ocean views and historic Fort Adams. Hear about Newport's rich yachting history, major winners of the coveted America's cup since 1930. We will take time for lunch on our own at Brick Marketplace, located on beautiful Newport Harbor. This afternoon we will enjoy a tour of Marble House Mansion, the ultimate in holiday decorations! We will see this lavish Newport mansion in its holiday finery. The sumptuous Vanderbilt-owned mansion was built with 500,000 cubic feet of American, Italian, and African Marbles and includes beautiful grounds with a Chinese Tea House. Our lodging for the evening will be located at the Holiday Inn Express Newport North-Middletown. Dinner will be included this evening.
After an included continental breakfast, we will check-out and depart for the Breakers Mansion. You will be dazzled by poinsettias, evergreen wreaths, fresh flowers, and decorated Christmas trees. Stroll through the home's elegant rooms and be sure to stop by the dining room...the table is set with period silverware and china. Each window in the home is lit with white candles reflecting the colonial tradition. After our tour we must depart for home. With stops for lunch and rest enroute home, arrival is scheduled for early evening.CB
