Day 1
Today we will head to Ohio's Amish country. Dinner will be included at a local restaurant.
DDay 2
This morning we will meet our local guide for a day of touring. Our first stop will be the Amish & Mennonite Heritage Center. We will view a short film on the Amish history and see the cyclorama mural. Then we are off to The Farm at Walnut Creek for a wagon ride through the 120-acre farm. Lunch will be on your own at the Walnut Creek Cheese Café. Next we will head to Walnut Creek Broom to watch a broom making demo. We will return to the hotel for time to freshen up before departing for the David Warther Museum in Sugarcreek. David is the grandson of Ernest "Mooney" Warther who was known as the World's Master Carver. David will personally take us through his collection and workshop followed by a sit-down dinner with him and his wife.
CB, DDay 3
Prepare for another full day of guided touring. The first stop will be the Coblentz Leather shop which features the finest Amish-made leather goods including belts, purses, wallets, and more. We will then visit Lamp and Light Candle for a candle carving demo, followed by a tour and lunch on your own at Keim Lumber Building Center. After a visit to Heinis Cheese Chalet we will stop at Wendell August Forge to hammer your own picture to take home and see the World's Largest Amish Buggy! Dinner this evening will be an Amish-style feast where we will learn about their traditions and customs.
CB, DDay 4
This morning we will depart with our guide to Hershberger's Farm and Bakery to purchase goodies to take home. Next, we will visit Troyer's Candies in downtown Millersburg where we'll dip buckeyes to take home. We will make a stop at Lehman's Hardware where thousands of high-quality items (many of which you might think were not being made any longer) are available. It's like going to a museum and being able to buy the exhibits. This afternoon we will visit P. Graham Dunn Woodworking and Laser Art Gallery. We will return to the hotel to freshen up for dinner and a show at the Amish Country Theater.
CB, DDay 5
