Philadelphia Zoo

Day 1

Today you will enjoy the 42-acre Victorian garden of the Philadelphia Zoo which is home to more than 1300 animals, many of which are rare and endangered. In addition to its animals, the zoo is known for its historic architecture, which includes the country home of William Penn’s grandson, its botanical collections of over 500 plant species, its groundbreaking research, and its fine veterinary facilities. The zoo is one of the best laid-out and most animal-packed zoos in the country with tree-lined walks, formal shrubbery, and animal sculptures as well as featuring a children's zoo, a paddleboat lake, a rainforest-themed carousel, and many interactive and educational exhibits. With everything the zoo has to offer your visit will be filled with wonder and amazement!

Pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it in one of the rest areas or choose from the many concession stands available.

For Your Information

- The zoo is partnering with weapons detection system Evolv Technology, which will allow visitors to walk right through security screening without having to stop to open bags or be checked individually as you enter (unless further screening is needed).
- Strictly Prohibited Items include:
- weapons, firearms, knives, clubs, or related items
- flammable liquids, fireworks, ammunition, explosives, or related devices
- paint, spray cans, aerosols, or other inappropriate items
- drones and/or any similar remote-controlled/flying devices (without prior approval)
- Smoking is prohibited, including e-cigarettes
- Do not feed the animals, throw objects, tap or bang on exhibit glass
- A limited number of strollers, manual wheelcharis, and electric scooters are available to rent at the main entrance

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
