Savannah's Boat Parade of Lights

Day 1

Today we depart on our southern journey, with overnight lodging in Fayetteville, NC.

Day 2

This morning after breakfast we continue south to Beaufort, SC. Here we will enjoy lunch on our own before a guided carriage tour. A picturesque old port town, Beaufort is the second oldest town in the state. It still retains the atmosphere of earlier days to a remarkable degree. By late afternoon we will arrive in Savannah, our home for the next three evenings. This evening you will enjoy a dinner buffet and entertainment aboard Savannah Riverboat Cruises. While aboard, enjoy the best view in the house for the Annual Boat Parade of Lights with yachts, tugs & other private vessels decorated for the holidays! A fireworks display on River Street will take place simultaneously and conclude the evening.

Day 3

After breakfast, our day begins with a guided tour of the Savannah History Museum, followed by an Old Savannah Trolley Tour. Bringing Savannah's History to Life is not just a slogan…it's a promise. Along with uniquely personal descriptions of Savannah's rich and spellbinding history, actual historical re-enactors appear from time to time, boarding and walking the aisles of your trolley. This afternoon we will enjoy a Christmas Show at the Savannah Theatre before an included dinner.

Day 4

Following breakfast, we will be joined by a local guide for our Atlantic Ocean Low Country Tour. We will start our tour with a stop at the Byrd Cookie Company flagship store. Enjoy cookie tasting and browse their marketplace for a huge selection of locally made gourmet foods, holiday décor, and unique gifts from Savannah. Next, you'll marvel at the beautiful view of saltwater marshes as we travel to Savannah's Beach at Tybee Island. Hear about the Fort Pulaski National Monument & Park, followed by a brief overview of the island's unique coastal living style. Enjoy a drive-by view of Georgia's oldest and tallest lighthouse, Tybee Island's Lighthouse, which guided mariners from the Atlantic into the Savannah River for more than 270 years. We'll then stop for a photo op and beach walk. An included lunch will be at a local restaurant before we tour the Davenport House Museum. Today's touring will conclude with a stop at the Cathedral Basilica of St. John the Baptist. The remainder of the afternoon and evening are free to enjoy at your leisure.

Day 5

After breakfast we will check-out and depart for home. Our lodging this evening will be in Fayetteville, NC.

Day 6

After breakfast we will continue our journey home. Arrival is scheduled for early evening.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. We have suspended this practice for a period of time. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort if reinstated.
