Day 3

Happy New Year! After breakfast at the hotel, we'll head to Pasadena for the 136th Tournament of Roses! The Tournament of Roses has been a grand tradition since 1890. When the parade debuted, 3,000 spectators were on hand to witness history in the making. Today, nearly one million spectators line the 5 ½ mile route down Colorado Boulevard. As our guest, you will join them with reserved grandstand seating only minutes from the beginning of the parade route. After the parade, we return to the hotel for an included New Year's Day lunch. Later, motorcoach transportation will be provided to Santa Monica for free time on your own. Take a walk on the famous pier, shop on the 3rd Street Promenade, or relax on the beach. Or, if you'd prefer, you can stay back at the hotel and enjoy its amenities or do some touring of the area on your own.

Day 4

Today, after breakfast, we will travel back to Pasadena to view the Rose Parade floats in the post-parade viewing area. For many visitors, seeing the magnificent floats up close is the highlight of the entire event as it allows you to get up close to these beautiful & intricately designed floats that are made entirely of flowers and other all-natural materials. Bring your camera as this is an amazing photo opportunity as you marvel at the hours of dedication and craftsmanship devoted to each design. There will be time for lunch on your own this afternoon. This evening, we will enjoy an included dinner at a local restaurant.

Tips for Perkiomen motorcoach drivers and tour escorts are not included in the price of this tour. We feel that these gratuities should be extended on an individual basis and dictated by the level of service provided.

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but cannot be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with your driver at the time of boarding. Historically, daily seat rotation was practiced on most multi-day tours. We have suspended this practice for a period of time. Seat rotation will be explained by your driver or tour escort if reinstated.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.

Transportation Security Administration's Guidelines for Checking Luggage:

Customers are urged to leave their checked luggage unlocked, which will avoid the potential need for Transportation Security Administration (TSA) personnel to forcibly open bags that require further inspection. Plastic zip ties or cable ties may be used if desired.

Customers are asked to:

  • Pack footwear on top of other contents

  • Put personal belongings in clear plastic bags to reduce chances of TSA Screeners having to handle them

  • Spread out - NOT stack - books

  • Leave gifts unwrapped should screening require them to be opened

  • Put scissors, pocket knives and other sharp items in checked luggage

  • Put film in carry-on bag because screening equipment will damage undeveloped film

  • Avoid over-packing your bag so that the screener will be able to easily reseal your bag if it is opened for inspection
