A Day in Central Park

Day 1

The day will begin with free time in New York City to shop and have lunch on your own. We will then meet up with our guide who will take us on a walking tour of Central Park to discuss the sites, park history, and its ongoing role and influence in New York City. During the walking tour, we will visit Central Park Conservatory, the Harlem Meer, Central Park Lake & Boathouse, Strawberry Fields (memorial to John Lennon), Sheep Meadow & Tavern on the Green, Bethesda Fountain & Terrace (the most photographed place in Central Park), Belvedere Castle (even climb up into the tower!), Shakespeare Theatre (Delacorte Theatre), the Central Park Zoo (walk through only, no admission), East Meadow, the Great Lawn, The Pond, and Turtle Pond.

This walking tour is not recommended for those with difficulty walking or who require the assistance of a walker or wheelchair as you will be walking up and down hills and across lawns. During the tour we will walk at a moderate pace. There are benches at various locations and there will be a restroom stop inside the park.

10:30 AM - 12:30 PM Free Time in New York City
12:30 PM - 3:30 PM Guided Walking Tour of Central Park
3:45 PM Depart for home

Motorcoach seating is assigned at the time of reservation but can not be guaranteed. Although we do our best to keep each traveler in the seat assigned at the time of reservation, there are times that it is necessary to move seat locations. Please be sure to verify your final seat number(s) with the driver at the time of boarding.

To fully participate in this tour may require extended amounts of walking. There may be steps, inclines, uneven surfaces or extended periods of standing. Participants with physical limitation should take this into consideration.
